Create a Word Family Flip Book
Finished flip book can be bound with some yarn and a hole punch or GBC binding from a local office supply store.
Step 1: Download the pdf.(ex. wordfamilyPE_bk1_an.pdf) file.
Adobe Acrobat Reader is required to open the file.
Step 2: Print out the pages.
Step 3: With supervision, have children cut (or help children cut) along the lines indicated
with scissors icon.
Step 4: Put pages together by placing the word family root page as the base and placing
the individual letter pages on top of it. Then, add the cover.
Step 5: Staple pages together for children or punch holes and have children thread yarn
through holes and tie pages together.
When the book is bound, have children color and illustrate the book. Extend the learning by
encouraging children to write or tell their own imaginative word family adventure story.
