Personal stories and oral history
Each person has a life story filled with experiences. Whether the stories take the form of a personal journal or a conversation shared at a meal or around a campfire, these are stories that hold an important place in the art of storytelling. It is within these personal accounts that the characteristics of a family member as well as the family as a unit emerges and leaves a legacy to subsequent generations. Within a personal story, day to day real life in a period of time in history is preserved. Often connections will be forged between past and present that otherwise may have been forgotten.
